Our # 2 The Paris
The City of Light comes to the City of Lights and the
result is well, fantastique! Centrally located on the Las
Vegas Strip, the Paris Las Vegas Resort is designed to bring
the spirit, excitement and savoir faire of Paris to the city
of Las Vegas. From the hotel tower, modeled after the famous
Hotel de Ville, to the security guards dressed as gendarmes,
the hotel impressively pulls off the illusion.
As guests pull into the main drive, they are greeted by
reproductions of various famous Parisian landmarks,
including the Arc de Triomphe and a half-scale replica of
the Eiffel Tower. Once inside, and under a hand-painted
ceiling to resemble the sky, visitors can stroll down a mini
Rue de la Paix, ride an elevator to the top of the Eiffel
Tower, or stop at a bakery for a baguette. But be sure to
take some time to notice the little things, like the ornate
cherub statuettes holding up the light posts and the
accordion player wandering the cobblestone streets of Le
Boulevard, the shopping area. Parisian streets and three
legs of the Eiffel Tower surround the 850,000 square-foot
casino, which offers a wide selection of slots and all the
popular table games. But beware: Every time you get a
blackjack, the dealers exclaim in French. In fact, the staff
is required to say "merci" and "bonjour" all the time, which
gets old, but is all part of the fun. Opulent and
comfortable, even the standard rooms are beautifully
decorated in a French Regency style with framed mirrors,
thick carpeting and draperies and spacious marble bathrooms.
As in France, an armoire serves as the closet, enhancing the
European ambiance.
Pool: The attention to detail also extends to the
pool area. If you’re not sunbathing, check out the
observation deck at the top, overlooking the Bellagio
fountains. The Eiffel Tower replica soars above one side of
the pool deck while the hotel tower soars above the other
side. With the trees and comfy furnishings, guests soak up
the sun in style. The Mandera Spa, a large, expensive health
club, is adjacent to the pool area.
Entertainment: Catch a show at the home of headline
acts, Le Theatre des Arts, or grab a drink in Le Cabaret
Lounge or the clubby and oh-so-dark French bar, Napoleon’s.
The hotel is connected to Bally's and MGM, and those looking
to get some culture outside of Paris hop on the monorail to
see the rest of the city.
Dining: The hotel has a host of French-themed
restaurants, including one of the best buffets in town, the
Eiffel Tower restaurant and the Mon Ami Gabi bistro. Pastry
lovers should check out the bakeries, which fly in their
pastry dough from France because Nevada water is "not
perfect."
Shopping: Le Boulevard offers the finest in unique
French retail shopping. Along its quaint cobblestone
streets, you’ll discover extraordinary shops and boutiques
showcasing clothes, art galleries, gifts and jewelry.
